The nose is classically Italian - it’s savoury and leathery, with lovely bright red fruit and peppery notes. The palate is rich and balanced, with good intensity and a lifted finish. The vineyard is scattered with fossils, sand and pieces of coral - which also made great presents for the kids! A beautifully herbaceous and woody nose leads to a palate that’s rich, generous and elegant. The vineyard is next to a forest full of fireflies - lucciole means firefly in Italian - the perfect name for such a dazzling wine (14%)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e1x \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/winespark.com\/products\/cordero-hica-barbera-dalba-2023?_pos=1\u0026amp;_sid=017efd4cb\u0026amp;_ss=r\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eCordero Hica Barbera d'Alba 2023\u003c\/a\u003e - Serena's pet project, this is a Barbera Superiore, a classification given to the top 20% of grapes in the region. It’s unmistakably Italian on the nose, with flavours of dark fruit, herbs and tea leaves, while on the palate it’s rich, creamy and powerful (15%)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e1x T\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/winespark.com\/products\/tiberio-montepulciano-dabruzzo-2023?_pos=1\u0026amp;_sid=8454e2f47\u0026amp;_ss=r\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eiberio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2023\u003c\/a\u003e - from high up in the hills of Cugnoli, where the long growing season ripens flavours gently and builds complexity. This is a deep and vibrant red, with flavours of juicy blackberry, coffee and dark chocolate, finishing smooth, fresh and spicy. The Wall Street Journal declared it ‘Italy’s best bargain in red wine now’ and at €21.15 for members, it might just be WineSpark’s too!
