• 1x Metzer Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 - from Helderberg in Stellenbosch, this a smooth, sumptuous Cab with extra oomph from the Shiraz and Cinsaut in the blend
• 1x Tesselaarsdal Pinot Noir 2022 - this wine is from Hemel-en-Aarde, which means ‘Heaven on earth’ and sums the place up perfectly. It’s a fragrant, soft Pinot with tons of red fruit and cranberry, with lovely intensity, freshness and length
• 1x Tesselaarsdal Chardonnay 2022 - this one’s for the Chablis lovers - Berene ages it in amphorae (clay pots) which draws out the beautiful citrus blossom and peachy flavours of Chardonnay
• 1x McFarlane Tuesday's Child Cinsault 2021- a blend of old vine Stellenbosch and Breedekloof fruit, this shows why Cinsault is on the rise and a crying shame it was blended away for so many years. Pinot-like elegance at just 11.5% alcohol - the holy grail!
• 2x Carinus Family Chenin Blanc 2022 - Danie reckons this might be the best pound-for-pound value white wine in South Africa. It’s the ultimate guilty pleasure white wine… you get limes, you get florals, pears and apples, with a lovely creaminess too. It’s super refreshing but will also stand up to any braai/barbecue dish.
