This is a fresh, aromatic blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris from... Burgundy. Yep, you heard that right.

It’s actually how most white Burgundy used to be, before a nasty bug called Phylloxera wiped out most of Europe’s vines in the late 1800’s. Most of Burgundy was re-planted with the higher-yielding Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc and Gris were mostly forgotten.

But this wine is close to Laurent’s heart as it keeps an important part of the region’s history alive.

It’s made of up 3 vineyards in the Cote d’Or, each adding something special to the blend. It’s aged in big 600L oak barrels for one year, and then 6 months in stainless steel.

If you like a leaner style of wine like Pinot Grigio or Picpoul, and you’re looking for something a bit more interesting, then I’d give this a shot.

Or if you’re a total wine pro and want to taste a bit of Burgundy history as well as the high potential of Pinot Blanc and Gris, then it’s definitely for you too!

Very impressive

Quite a reductive nose, some sesame and butter scotch, more like a very good Chardonnay.
Palate: Nice melt, medium bodied with a long finish, again more like the good old Chardonnay.
Probably some aging might even improve the experience. Really loved it!
For us 17 - 17,5 Pt.

Really impressed by this wine

I had it with monkfish in a cream and butter sauce. It really worked very well. Nice body without being over oaked. I recommend this wine.

Hi John, thanks so much for the awesome review! We are delighted you enoyed it so much :

I'm hooked!

So Pinot Blanc & Pinot Gris in Burgundy, this is first for me. The use of oak is very subtle here, everything in perfect harmony. The finish is quite dry, but it has good complexity. Great with say...roast chicken.

A special wine

I don't know how better to explain: this is a special wine. I've paid twice as much for wine of similar area and description, but this trumps any of them.

It stands up well with food, and can also do well when quaffing.

I'd heartily recommend for anyone who likes pinot gris, white Burgundy, or anyone who is willing to push the boat out on trying something beyond the industrial, bland, generic white wines.
