Eamon's French Discoveries 6-pack
Member Price €175.84
Back in February, I hit the big wine fairs in Paris and Montpellier with some important gaps to fill in the range.
Armed with tip-offs from my trusty insiders, I swirled and spat my way through hundreds of wines looking for gems. Tough job, and all that!
And at the end of it all I knew that I’d unearthed some amazing new talent.
From Chablis all the way down to Gigondas in the southern Rhone, this case is a journey through the spine of France’s most historic and charming wine country.
In this special case you’ll get:
- 2x Clos Léopold Gigondas 2021 - winemaker Julien inherited a small block of vines that his grandfather Léopold planted in the 1960s in a remote corner of the spectacular Dentelles mountains. This is a powerful and punchy blend of Grenache and Syrah, bursting with juicy blueberries, violets and pepper, farmed organically and aged in concrete to preserve all that beautiful fruit
- 1x Famille Grossot Chablis 2023 - a blend of several parcels on varied soils and ranging from 3-60 year of vine age - the result is a balanced, pure and refreshing Chablis, with classic crisp green apple and vibrant citrus flavours
- 1x Cornin Mâcon-Fuissé Les Bruyères 2023 - one sip and you’ll see why this guy is so highly-rated - this is elegant, classy Chardonnay at an amazing price
- 1x Cornin Pouilly-Fuissé Clos du Roy 2022 - from a single vineyard planted in 1936 - this is complex, nutty, refined Burgundy with a long, juicy finish. The star of the show at that secret wine tasting by the Seine
- 1x Domaine de Boischampt Moulin-à-Vent Au Michelon 2023 - from the most serious and Burgundian of all the Beaujolais villages. This 70 year-old plot has been made famous by some renowned names, and the nose here is dark and brooding, while the palate is loaded with blue fruit, florals and spice. One for your biggest and best wine glasses!
