This is José & Liliana’s flagship wine, and tells you everything you need to know about the potential of Arribes.

It's exactly why Raúl Pérez, one of Spain’s most famous winemakers, is doing a special project with José & Liliana at their winery.

The grapes are from José’s grandfather’s 110 year-old vineyard; these old vines produce fruit that is complex and concentrated.

The nose is dark and serious with amazing oak - I think it’s very Burgundian. The palate is spicy, complex and very long - a sensational wine from an exciting place.

All at a very accessible 12% alcohol - the dream.

recently showed a couple of top Irish journalists my newest Spanish discoveries and this seemed to be the star of the show.

John Wilson of the Irish Times immediately named it his Wine of the Week, writing he ‘loved it and will certainly try it again’.

And Leslie Williams was also blown away, describing it in the Irish Examiner as ‘packed with red fruits, spice and earth with a layered complex palate that reminded me of top quality Barolo'.

High praise indeed, but give it a try and I've no doubt you'll agree!

Beats the bland

Sitting by the fire with snow falling outside I am transported to the warmth and joy of Spain. The wines of the Iberian peninsula are a great antidote to anodyne same tasting wines and this is a cut above.

So happy you enjoyed this one S.B.! One of my favourites and a joy to introduce to Ireland. Cheers Eamon
