When I launched WineSpark four years ago, Federico came on board as an investor. Which tells you all you need to know about the traditional wine industry.

He also jumped at the opportunity, after a glittering career in wine, to make a range of wines under his own name. For the very first time!

I Filari means ‘the rows’ - Federico picks his favourite parcels from the wineries he works at, and turns them into incredible wines, exclusively for you.

And thanks to a shipment that just rocked up from Sicily this week, the full range is finally available together on the site. For the first time ever.

I’ve built a special 6-pack for you to try. Which includes:

  • 2x I Filari Sicilia Nero D’Avola 2021 - a dark, brooding red, classically Italian with vibrant dark fruit and aromas of tea leaves and dried herbs, with an added splash of Sicilian sunshine
  • 1x I Filari Sicilia Grillo 2022 - Grillo’s thick skins and small berries, usually used for Marsala, make for punchy and refreshing whites. If you like a rich and round style of white, like Albariño, Godello or Chablis, then this is definitely for you
  • 1x I Filari Toscana Cabernet Franc 2021 - a rare 100% Cab Franc from Suvereto - the long growing season and complex soils suits it perfectly. Federico uses every trick in the luxury winemaking book to make this taste sensational. Think inky graphite nose, and a smooth, refined and focussed palate. It’s a Super Tuscan without the Super price tag
  • 1x I Filari Toscana Viognier 2022 - the Tuscan coast is also perfect for growing world-class Viognier - you get great ripeness, dried apricot and tropical flavours. If you like your northern Rhône whites, then this is for you
  • 1x I Filari Chianti Rufina Riserva 2017 - nod to how great Chianti used to be made - old vines, spontaneous fermentation from wild yeasts, and ageing in giant oak casks from the nearby Langhe region. It's a rich, refined and complex red, with classic Tuscan woody and violet notes.

P.s. Our Italian range continues to grow nicely - if you’d like to build your own case, take your pick from Abruzzo, Campania, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and more here

The former winemaker of Solaia and Tignanello, two of Italy's most iconic wines.
