French Classics 6-pack
Member Price €170.24
As a WineSpark member, you’ve caught on to a smarter way of buying wine.
You’ve got access to smaller, lesser-known producers, who don’t command big name prices in the first place.
And through your support of WineSpark, their wines are made even more affordable.
With a steady stream of arrivals coming into the warehouse in time for Christmas, I thought I’d mix a case of my favourite classics from all over France for you to try.
In the 6-pack you’ll get a bottle each of:
- Château Leydet-Valentin Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2020 - starting with the hallowed Grand Cru soils of Saint-Émilion, this is a refined and elegant blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, from a vineyard right beside the famous Château Figeac
- Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Cuvée Saint-Urbain 2021 - no French case is complete without Pinot Noir from Burgundy - this is a dark and brooding style from Marsannay. It’s a blend of Laurent’s four best vineyards, which are earmarked for future Premier Cru status. So you’re getting Premier Cru quality at an ordinary cru price
- Domaine Nicolas Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc 2022 - wine experts view the Hautes-Côtes as the best value white appellation in Burgundy and John Wilson agrees, adding a previous vintage to his wines of the year in The Irish Times. This is an unsung gem at an amazing price
- Domaine de Boischampt Vayolette Juliénas 2020 - winemaker Thibaud's top wine, and shows you the amazing potential of Beaujolais. The vines are on north-facing slopes, so it’s more about freshness and florals here, rather than power. Just like a good Pinot Noir from up the road in Burgundy - if you like them, then you’re in business here
- Domaine de St Romble Sancerre Grande Cuvée 2023 - from the famous Terres Blanches soils which give a gloriously wide spectrum of flavour to the Sauvignon grapes - everything from tropical, herbaceous to cassis flavours. The vines here are up to 90 years old, giving more concentration and power to the wine
- Domaine Jones Fitou 2022 - Katie’s flagship wine is back, a classic Languedoc blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah, made up of small vineyard sites around Tuchan - most over 100 years old. Expect a hit of juicy blackberries, violets and savoury-smoky flavours.
