Every time I taste with winemaker Maite Sánchez, I just get more and more impressed.

So the last time I was over there, I couldn’t help but add two new wines to our range - the Decanter-lauded Suerte Albillo Real, and El Bufón Garnacha, a beautifully perfumed and powerful single-vineyard red from high up in the Gredos mountains.

With the long Easter weekend in mind, I’ve put a 6-pack of Maite’s wines together for you to try. In the case you’ll get:

• 2x La Suerte de Arrayán Garnacha 2018 - one of our most popular reds so far this year, and I’ll leave the rest to John Wilson in The Irish Times: ‘A beguiling wine that combines soft silky strawberry fruits with an underlying power. Smooth, full-bodied yet elegant; great wine’
• 2x La Suerte de Arrayán Albillo Real 2022 - from a sandy-granite 70-year old vineyard near Toledo, this is an amazingly rich and complex white with so much going on. 95 points and the second best white wine in Spain according to Decanter
• 1x El Bufón de Arrayán Garnacha 2018 - the vineyard here is on slate soils which gives the Garnacha a lot more freshness and complexity. Think Burgundy meets Barolo and you’re getting close
• 1x El Bufón de Arrayán Albillo Real 2022 - a golden, citrusy and full-bodied white with hints of honey and tropical flavours, and a distinct minerality from the more granite soils in the vineyard.

These are all from old vines, farmed organically, and made in an artisanal style by a talented winemaker at the top of her game.

And because they’re from the dead centre of Spain and not somewhere more famous, the value for money here is off the charts!
