This is Nigel’s favourite wine - and it’s a real treat to taste an aged red blend from this amazing wine region.

Margaret River is very similar to Bordeaux - the cooling influences from the ocean, and its ancient gravelly soils. And Nigel gets his grapes from the best area in the region - Willyabrup - where the raw material is just a dream to work with.

And this is a classic Left Bank blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Nigel wanted to make a red that surprised people, rather than just a straight up Cab.

The wine is built to age - the 20% of Petit Verdot in the blend gives it florals and freshness which turns to tobacco and cigar box as it ages. And then he puts in 10% of Malbec to give a punch of fruit and juiciness.

Despite it being 8 years now, the wine is still dark and youthful, so it easily has another 12-15 years in the tank.

But why wait, as it tastes gloriously smooth, complex and mellow now… a divine red from a supremely talented winemaker.

An exceptional wine; well rounded and good value.
