Fourchaume Premier Cru is one of the most prestigious spots in Chablis.

Eve Grossot’s parents planted their vineyards here in the 1980s, on steep slopes facing south and west. The late afternoon sun brings richness and ripeness, producing a full-flavoured, opulent style of Chablis.

The vineyard also sits on the classic Kimmeridgian soils - a mix of clay and limestone marl, dotted with fossils. The wine is aged on its lees for 18 months in stainless steel rather than oak, to preserve the special fruit aromas and minerality that you only get from this soil.

This is Chardonnay in its purest and most expressive form - rich and complex on the nose, with layers of honey, herbs and stoniness on the palate. It’s beautifully weighted and intense.

Eve is taking her highly-respected family domaine to even greater heights - wines like this show exactly why.
